37th Medieval Festival of Bouillon

Hear ye, hear ye, good people !

During the weekend of 10 & 11 August 2024, come and feast and fight at the 37th Medieval Festival of Bouillon !

Medieval markets FREE ACCESS

Many craftsmen will set up their stalls to show you the best products of the Middle Ages : hypocras, mead, leather objects, jewellery, medieval costumes and much more.

These stalls will be spread over three sites : the esplanade of the castle, the "Esplanade des Sépulcrines" and near the Cordemois bridge.

Animations in town FREE ACCESS

On Saturday and Sunday, from 2pm, various medieval groups will wander through the town and enliven the streets of Bouillon.

On Saturday, a procession will start at 3.30 pm from the Cordemois bridge to the sound of minstrels accompanying knights, men-at-arms, vikings...

Mini-concerts are planned for the evening of Saturday 10/08 at the "Poulie", in the "Grand Rue" and on the "Esplanade des Sépulcrines".

A fire show is also planned on the "Parc des Sépulcrines".

Medieval camp FREE ACCESS

As in previous years, the places "Champs Lévêque" and "Ile de Calay" will be the theatres of a camp worthy of the Middle Ages. Come and discover ten centuries of history in the company of nobles, knights, craftsmen, peasants...

During the whole weekend, fighters in armour of international standard will engage in medieval combat according to the rules of the time. You will also have the chance to watch real equestrian jousting nearby. Captivating entertainment that will delight young and old alike !

Children's special

Your children will not be forgotten and will be able to have a great time. Various activities are planned for them at various locations during the festival : 200 m² fighting ring, school for little pages, pony rides and much more !


In the castle, during the day, you can meet various medieval troops standing guard against the invaders. During your visit to the castle, you may witness an unforgettable melee of fighters defending the entrance to the site.

Between the falconry shows, various musical and other entertainments are planned.


The entertainment in the town, the medieval camp and the medieval markets are free.

Access to the castle is payable. The "Medieval Pass" (20 euros per adult/senior, 15 euros per child/student and free for children under 4 years old) will allow you to discover one of the most impressive feudal relics in Belgium and to take part in a host of medieval activities throughout the day. The pass also gives you free access to the Ducal Museum and the "Bouillon Medieval Experience".

In the evening, with your pass, come and see the impressive night show "L'Odyssée de Lumière", which retraces the history of the castle in a breathtaking 180° show in the castle main court. Not to be missed !


On the day of your visit, please go to the castle to collect your "Medieval Pass" reserved and paid in advance online !

!!! The last " Medieval Pass " will be delivered, at the latest, 45 minutes before closing time !!! 

Saturday 10 August : Deadline = 7.15 pm 

Sunday 11 August : Deadline = 5.45 pm

Due to the presence of the birds of prey in the main court, dogs and other pets are not allowed in the castle !!!

The presence of drones is forbidden in and around the castle !!!
